With the new feature, users can say, “Open last month’s invoice template” or “Connect to the projector” as commands. You can also write, “How do I split this PDF?” With these prompts, Copilot can take action, rather than simply presenting alternatives. It could open the file, modify the setting, or give a quick response.

The advanced search box that comes with the new update also has a few other useful icons. Aside from the one that provides access to Copilot Vision, it also recognizes text on the screen. On top of that, it also allows voice control. Managed IT services experts say that these extensions increase interaction more rapidly and easily. This is because users can type or talk properly while the system reacts intelligently. 

Optional, Not Automatic 

Developers have recognized that for some, the thought of integrating AI may be overwhelming. With Ask Copilot, however, this is entirely optional as you have to turn it on in Settings. The route is Personalization, Taskbar, and Ask Copilot. Managed IT services providers say that nothing changes when you are using a classic search. The classic experience is still there while Microsoft has made this an option, but not an obligation. Privacy concerns are also clarified by the company. They explained that Ask Copilot does not get new access to data. Instead, it is based on the same permissions as Windows Search. Hence, it does not spy on files and personal content.
